Over 400,000 chickens have been killed in Victoria Australia to contain a bird flu outbreak that has been detected at 2 farms located at the state’s southwest.
The second farm in Tarang is connected to the site of the first outbreak in Meredith, where the H5N1 strain was first detected on Wednesday this past week.
Both farms share management staff and machinery among themselves, forcing Agriculture Victoria to tighten movement of vehicles and equipment to contain further spread.
