In the past 24 hours, former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield stated the world would likely experience a bird flu pandemic. This warning came shortly after the bird flu virus made its appearance in humans.
Over the past 2 weeks, there were 2 cases of people being infected with H5N2 bird flu. Regrettably, a man from Mexico who had it died.
Bird flu in humans historically has an approximate 50% mortality rate. That means 50% of people infected with the virus die from it.
Symptoms of H5N2 bird flu are:
Fever or feeling feverish
Cough
Sore throat
Runny or stuff nose
Muscle or body aches
Headaches
Fatigue
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
