10,000 individuals 18+ at risk individuals will receive 2 injections of bird flu vaccine by CSL Seqirus amid fears of a looming pandemic.
The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare say the jab will be available as early as next Tuesday and is mainly for “…those who are at increased risk of contracting avian influenza due to their work or other circumstances.”
H5N1 bird flu is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions of poultry world-wide, infecting and killing cows, and spreading to humans.
People who work close with cows, chickens, veterinarians, and animal control officers will have access to the vaccine first.
