A massive cyber-attack on London hospitals forced appointment cancellations and delayed labs results.
The affected hospitals were partners with Synnovis and included King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’, Royal Brompton and Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
As it stood, the attack prevented blood transfusions and the analysis of important pathology results crucial to patient treatment.
The incident took place on Monday and knocked departments offline that had been linked to a main server.
The NHS and National Cyber Security Centre are currently working together to deal with the situation.
